Hi all. I am Jesús Luengo, I am 48 years old and I have been a professional photographer since I was 25 years old, although the passion for capturing images was earlier, specifically when I was 9 years old, when my parents gave me a colored Werlisa as a gift. An old photo compact camera with which I spent a long while playing at being a great family photographer. I still remember taking it on my last field trip to school and waiting anxiously for a week to receive the copies on photographic paper.

They were other years ...

My next experience with analog photography was at the age of 16, with my father's Ricoh. An old reflex camera with a series of lenses that required you to control all the parameters to perfection. No automatism could save you from a difficult situation, but it had character. The personality of those austere SLR cameras from the late 70s. Almost indestructible machines, which I still have today. With that camera and in adolescence I played to seduce girls my age and with friends I was always responsible for taking weekend photographs, outings, groups and some posing ... in short, great memories that if it were not for that camera (in the pre-internet era) they would not be printed in negative film.

When I decided to study Photography, I bought my first camera with my own money. With 21 years. An analogic Nikon F80 with a 24-70mm zoom lens. My latest analog SLR. I started to learning and study at the Orihuela School of Art (EASDO). Perfecting my sense of composition in the capture but also the development technique. A magical place ruled by the enlarger, the chemicals, the buckets and that red light bulb. It was also the camera with which I photographed what is now my wife and I documented my entire dating and youth process in addition to having my first professional weddings, until the arrival of "digital" that completely revolutionized the world of photography.

It was at the age of 23 and after finishing my higher technical studies that I acquired my first digital SLR thanks to the unconditional support of my dear grandmother Ángeles. A Fujifilm Finepix S3. With it I strengthened my digital knowledge and did my first professional jobs. He also accompanied me in the opening of my small photography studio (Contraluz estudio 2006), and in which I was working as a manager for more than two years, until 2008 when I began to collaborate as a photographer, retoucher and designer in a studio in Novelda. Alicante (Spain) for more than seven years.

From 2012 to 2015 I was alternating my work in the photography studio with that of an online teacher for the UNED Foundation in the photography section. Teaching class for all those students who wanted to implement their knowledge in managing their own business image in the social media to give their photos a quality touch.

In 2015 I made the leap to the US, specifically to the city of Dallas with my family, in the state of Texas, where I was able to do many photographic jobs working on my own and for the commercial photography company Picture People, as main study photographer. Carrying out numerous works for NEW BORN, CHILDREN, CORPORATE PORTRAIT, FAMILY AND BEAUTY.

My work also led me to be able to perform destination wedding in the city of Monterrey in Mexico.

From then until now I am a user of Nikon and Fujifilm X series. I have made hundreds of weddings, family photographs, pre-weddings, post-weddings, children's studies, events of all kinds and concert photography, accredited for the Alicante Live Music culture website.

As for my work, I really like to use natural environments or architecture and I always look for natural light since it is the one that offers the highest quality. I also have a wide range of studio lights to highlight the beauty of the moment if necessary. I don't like creating artificial environments as I firmly believe in being honest and in an open dialogue with my clients, in which I try to stick to their demands while providing new creative ideas.

Hola a todos. Soy Jesús Luengo, tengo 48 años y llevo siendo fotógrafo profesional desde los 25 años, aunque la pasión por capturar imágenes fue anterior, concretamente con 9 años, cuando en mi primera comunión mis padres me regalaron una Werlisa color. Una vieja cámara compacta de carrete con la que estuve una temporada jugando a ser un gran fotógrafo familiar. Aun recuerdo llevármela a mi última excursión del colegio y esperar ansioso una semana para recibir las copias impresas en papel fotográfico.

Eran otros años...

Mi siguiente experiencia con la fotografía analógica fue a la edad de 16, con la Ricoh de mi padre. Una vieja cámara réflex con una serie de objetivos que te exigía dominar todos los parámetros a la perfección. Ningún automatismo te podría salvar de una situación complicada, pero tenía carácter. La personalidad de aquellas cámaras réflex, austeras, de finales de los 70s. Máquinas casi indestructibles, que a día de hoy aun conservo. Con aquella cámara y ya en la adolescencia jugaba a seducir a las chicas de mi edad y con los amigos era siempre el responsable de hacer las fotografías de fin de semana, las salidas, los grupos y algún posado...en definitiva, grandes recuerdos que sino es por aquella cámara (en la época pre internet) no estarían impresos en negativo.

Cuando decidí estudiar el oficio de fotógrafo me compré mi primera cámara con mi propio dinero. Con 21 años. Una Nikon F80 con un objetivo zoom 24-70mm. Mi última réflex analógica. Con ella llegó el aprendizaje y el estudio en la Escuela de Arte de Orihuela (EASDO). Perfeccionando mi sentido de la composición en la captura pero también la técnica del revelado. Un lugar mágico gobernado por la ampliadora, los químicos, las cubetas y aquella bombilla roja. También fue la cámara con la que fotografíé a la que hoy es mi mujer y documenté todo mi proceso de noviazgo y juventud además de realizar mis primeras bodas a nivel profesional, hasta la llegada de "lo digital" que revolucionó por completo el mundo de la fotografía.

Fue a la edad de 23 años y acabando mis estudios técnicos superiores cuando adquirí mi primera réflex digital gracias al apoyo incondicional de mi querida abuela Ángeles. Una fujifilm Finepix S3. Con ella afiancé mis conocimientos digitales y realizé mis primeros trabajos profesionales. También me acompañó en la apertura de mi pequeño estudio de fotografía (Contraluz estudio 2006), y en el que estuve trabajando como gerente durante más de dos años, hasta el año 2008 cuando comencé a colaborar como fotógrafo, retocador y diseñador en un estudio en Novelda. Alicante, durante más de siete años.

Desde el año 2012 hasta el 2015 estuve alternando mi labor en el estudio de fotografía con el de docente online para la Fundacion UNED en el apartado de fotografía. Impartiendo clase para todos aquellos alumnos que querían implementar sus conocimientos en la gestión de su propia imagen empresarial en las RRSS. Para darles un toque de calidad a sus fotografías.

En 2015 doy el salto a EEUU, concretamente a la ciudad de Dallas con mi familia, en el estado de Texas, en el que pude realizar numerosos trabajos fotográficos trabajando por mi cuenta y para la compañia de fotografía comercial Picture People, como fotógrafo principal de estudio. Realizando numerosos trabajos de NEW BORN, INFANTILES, RETRATO CORPORATIVO, FAMILIARES Y BEAUTY.

Mi trabajo también me llevó a poder realizar alguna boda de destino en la ciudad de Monterrey en México.

Desde entonces hasta ahora soy usuario de Nikon y fujifilm serie X. He realizado cientos de bodas, fotografías familiares, prebodas, postbodas, estudios infantiles, eventos de todo tipo y fotografía de conciertos, acreditado para la web de cultura Alicante Live Music.

En cuanto a mi trabajo me gusta mucho utilizar ambientes naturales o arquitectura y siempre busco la luz natural ya que es la que más calidad ofrece. Tambien poseo una amplia gama de luces de estudio para resaltar la balleza del momento si fuese necesario. No me gusta crear ambientes artificiales ya que creo firmemente en la siceridad y en un diálogo abierto con mis clientes en el que intento ceñirme a sus demandas pero aportando nuevas ideas creativas.
